The Development Fee Ordinance was developed in conjunction with the City manager and the Finance Director, and was enacted in June. The ordinance provides a legal mechanism to require developments to pay for their proportionate share of costs associated with new, expanded, or modified infrastructure necessary to service the development through the enactment of an Infrastructure Financing Plan. Thus far, the city has adopted one Infrastructure Financing plan entitled the “Beckwith/Triangle Development District Infrastructure Financing Plan.” It is a road improvement plan created to stimulate growth and development in the Myrick Street area through the cost sharing of the road infrastructure needed to accommodate the additional traffic.
